Terrorists are people who have extreme hatred for others. They hate them so much, they will blow up their cities. There are terrorists all over the world and a lot of them will use religion as justice for their reasoning. There are especially a lot of terrorists in the Middle East that use Islam as a basis, but they are not truly Muslims.
What should we do to reduce terrorism???
Education
Educate our students on different religions and cultures of the world especially if they are going to be going to a specific country, so not to offend the natives. Make a basic religion class required for high schoolers, so that they can use this information to not aggravate others. Due to our ignorance, we have been terrorized by many Muslims. If we understand them more, we won’t accidently do something we are not supposed to.
Several examples include the burning of the Koran we did. That is because many people assume that the Koran is equal to a Christian's Bible. But in fact, a Koran is better equaled to Jesus Christ. We would be outraged if someone did something to hurt our image's of him. And the Muslim's are extremely outraged when we burn their Koran. And many of the people who do burn the Koran claim to be Christians. Yet they are not following a very important rule in life, "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you." They claim they wouldn't mind as much if the Muslims burned the Bible, but they are not equaling it due to importance, only due to similarities.
Immigration Laws
We should watch who we let in the country, make sure we don’t let in any terrorists. Our immigration system is flawed. We need to check the backgrounds of the people we let in, to not accidently let in a terrorist. And we need to make sure all this is done before we let them in. It is an embarrassment and outrages those who have earned their citizenship here in the U.S. only to be arrested for false terrorist charges. We may make mistakes, but if we change our immigration laws to make it harder for any outside terrorists who want to destroy us get in, then they have to fight us from the outside, not the inside.
We have several members of al Qaeda in our country that we let immigrate in without proper background checks. That is how al Qaeda got the information of the planes they needed to pull off 9/11. They had insiders. If we ran proper background checks, this wouldn’t happen to us. And we wouldn’t have arrested hundreds of Muslims in the country soon after to find out which one did it.
Public Executions
I also really think we need public executions again. Think about it, when we had public executions, there was a whole lot less crime in the country. Whenever we catch a terrorist, I say we bring them to a public place and show it on national, if not international, television and execute them. If we execute enough terrorists, we can scare them into not messing with us. If that doesn’t work, well then we are killing off the terrorists anyway. We will know when we catch a terrorist simply by catching them in the act of sabotaging airplanes, blowing up buildings, or murdering important figures against their cause. Yes, we may accidently kill an innocent person every once in a while, but we can do special things for the family they left behind to repay for the mistake.
Many people will say that this will negatively affect children emotionally and be imprinted in their brains forever. Yes it will be imprinted in their brains forever, that is the point. To teach the children that terrorizing others, raping, murdering is all wrong. Just simply talking to them doesn’t work. Fear inflicted at a young age is the way to go if you want to teach them not to do something. A lot of parents who just talk to their kids and don’t follow through with their punishments, their kids will just learn that they can take advantage of their parents. Or in this case, the authority. This is wrong and needs to be stopped. If people are jolted just a little into not committing the worst acts a person can commit, the world would be a lot better place.
As I was saying, back in colonial times hanging was seen as a good moral lesson for the people watching to learn what not to do. Crime rates were down then. People will argue that hanging is a cruel and unusual punishment , therefore unconstitutional, but isn't the pain they have inflicted on their victims just as bad? They are only getting what they have dished out. And like I am saying only the worst punishments would be punishable by death: murder, rape, terrorism, and child molesting. These are painful and hurt the victims, if not kills them.
